Brian Bauerle
Founder and Mentor
In his 40 years of experience working in Asia with multinational and family-run companies, he has created the Asian Leadership Institute’s unique core competence in mindfulness-based leadership transformation. He has coached hundreds of senior corporate executives and has worked with a wide variety of corporate and governmental institutions to design and implement strategies for organizational and personal change. Recently, he has worked with large Asian family-run businesses, where family dynamics play a new and challenging role. His success derives from his practical awareness, his extensive experience with business, and the wise, intuitive counsel he provides to his clients
Brian is instrumental in developing the mindfulness method of personal transformation. He received his training in mindfulness during his five years as a monk in Thailand and Tibet. He uses this unusual experience in a practical, yet provocative way that directly applies to business. He is a professional psychotherapist who earned a post graduate fellowship in Psychoanalysis from the prestigious Menninger Foundation in the United States. He also held faculty positions at major universities in the United States and Australia. He continues a lifelong tradition of social work.
John McAuley
Consultant
John has been affiliated with the Asian Leadership Institute for 7 years. An American, born in France, raised for a year in Africa and having lived in many financial capitals of Asia, John considers himself a citizen of the world, though uniquely based in Asian culture. He understands operating in highly stressful environments, having spent 15 years on the hectic trading floors of two of the world’s largest investment banks (Chase Manhattan Bank and BNP Paribas), while also starting a hedge fund. After successfully helping to navigate his firms through the many financial crises since the 1990’s, he decided to commit himself to a calmer, more conscious existence.
John works with all types of individuals, but his expertise is in mindfulness and trading; coaching traders at hedge funds and investment banks how to optimize profitability while maintaining a balanced quality of life. If a trader can learn to address the limitations of personality while learning to regulate the biological emotions of fear and
greed, then they can begin to analyze the market with true clarity, expansiveness, and increased intuition.
He has two master degrees of business, speaks Japanese fluently, and is a 3rd degree black belt in Japanese karate. A regular meditator and yoga practitioner, he has completed several long-term meditation retreats in Thailand. John still trades a portfolio for himself and others, where he practices mindfulness in trading every day.

Jaidip Khurana
Consultant
Jaidip combines his in-depth understanding of the corporate world with a mindfulness based approach to leadership transformation. Jaidip spent 20 years in the structured and secure environment of banking traversing the diverse cultures of London, Hong Kong and Singapore. As an investment banker (UBS and HSBC) his expertise covered mergers & acquisitions, strategic advisory, principal investment and capital raising in Asia, the Middle East and Europe. While achieving success in his professional life, Jaidip realised that he wanted to do more and broaden his perspective. After a process of introspection, he decided to close the chapter on a successful banking career.
After leaving banking, he found himself still working with people and organisations but now in a very different capacity. Jaidip found it fulfilling to connect with people and work with them to become more aware of themselves, equip them to make better decisions and enhance their relationships. Jaidip apprenticed with Brian and is an executive coach at ALI.
Jaidip began to realise that this new approach of relating to people created an incredible competitive advantage. He knew this would be valuable especially in the corporate world. He also recognised that you would not need to leave the corporate environment to practice this kind of transformation. His approach is both challenging and nurturing designed around what the client needs rather than any particular process. Jaidip coaches clients to access their intuition and gain clarity which aligns their actions with their core values, enabling them to lead happier and more productive lives. His clients find him “pragmatic, open, non judgmental and real”.
He has an MBA from Insead, France, graduating with distinction and he completed his B Com (Hons) from SRCC, Delhi University. Jaidip is a passionate student of Vedanta practicing living a holistic and whole hearted life. One of his greatest joys is dancing with his children.
