Originally from Germany Matthias’s career has been in Management Consulting in Asia for more than 25 years.
I advise clients on growth strategy, innovation, organisational transformation and leadership development.
Over the years he has advised business and government leaders in the areas of business strategy, policy design and organisational development.
He has been a Principal or Partner in several consultancy firms including Booz Allen Hamilton and the Boston Consulting Group and Monitor Group. In 2013 he set up his own consulting firm to advise clients on business growth and innovation and organisational development in SE Asia, combining analytical and coaching approaches to help clients successfully and sustainably transform their organisation.
In 2016 he joined the Asian Leadership Institute and trained in the triad coaching model which he has successfully applied to organisations going through dynamic and rapid change environments.
Matthias holds a PhD, summa cum laude, in Philosophy and Literature from the European Graduate School’s Division of Philosophy, Art and Critical Thought, where he is also Heinrich von Kleist Fellow. He previously earned three masters degrees, in Sociology (MSc), Asian Studies (MA) and Business Administration (MBA), respectively from the London School of Economics and UC Berkeley, as well as a Diplom-Kaufmann from WHU Koblenz.
In his spare time, he enjoys yoga, mindful walking, travelling, philosophy and literature. He has published two books about the works and life of the poet and dramatist Heinrich von Kleist. He lives with his Thai wife and two teenage children in Singapore. He speaks fluent German and English, as well as modest French and basic Thai.
